Holy Hunger

There’s nothing quite like the aroma of fresh bread coming out of the oven. It seems to awaken my hunger and is very hard to resist. We are living in the days of a great awakening and people all over the world are running towards the smell of fresh bread.

A hunger for God’s presence and power is being seen again. Gatherings are going on much longer than planned, skeptics are running to the altar to repent and receive Jesus as their Savior, bodies are being healed and many are being released from demonic oppression. In the Presence of the Lord, that which is unholy is being exposed and those who are hungry are being filled up. The desperate cries of the nations are becoming faith-filled cries as Jesus is being  given preeminence.

The beauty of this revival that will be marked in the history books of the next generation, is that it started with the generation under the most attack. The enemy has gone hard after identity, faith and mental stability, but the Lord is raising a standard against him. The attack has been so vicious because the victory is going to be so great and we are already tasting it! This is just the beginning of many testimonies of freedom and deliverance. There are young warriors, leaders and kings in the making and the weapons formed against them will not prosper. God is jealous over this generation and has marked them to lead revival and reformation that will last.

The three words most commonly used when people describe their experience are, holiness, humility and hunger. There’s a reverence of the greatness of God and an authentic humility being restored. It’s not about one person being the hero, but rather it’s about Jesus being lifted high. There’s a hunger for more of Him that is being satiated as His Presence is being honored.

There are two hallmarks to this revival. The first is His nature which is kind, peaceful and filled with a love like no other. The world has been so filled with trauma and loss that has allowed a spirit of fear to masquerade as more powerful than the peace of heaven. This revival is the antithesis of that. The second is the honoring of the Lord’s position. His holiness and majesty are being honored and made center focus. There’s been so much distraction and division even in the body of Christ but this is a time when we are going to be so enamored with His beauty and His majesty, that truly the things of the world will grow strangely dim in the light of His beauty and grace.

In meetings  I’ve been in recently, I’ve been blown away at the hunger and ease at which many are responding. It’s beautiful to see His Bride running towards freedom and the more that our good Father has for us. Let’s be those who run towards the smell of the fresh bread of His Presence and seek His face alone. May He be lifted high wherever we gather and may we be those who welcome His glorious power to have its way to bring freedom and redemption to many!

“I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.”

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭1:12-15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“So repent (change your mind and purpose); turn around and return [to God], that your sins may be erased (blotted out, wiped clean), that times of refreshing (of recovering from the effects of heat, of reviving with fresh air) may come from the presence of the Lord;”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭3:19‬ ‭AMPC‬‬
