You Did It!

I love the joy and squeals of "I did it" (add high pitch) that come from our three year old granddaughter as she completes a puzzle or the building of something she has been practicing.

Tonight as the clock strikes 12:00, you too can say or even shout, "I did it!" You are here to tell your story of another year lived. Well done! You have walked through another year of trusting the Lord when you didn’t see a way, another year of building relationships, enjoying those you love and maybe navigating difficult ones. You forgave, even when it wasn’t easy and didn’t seem right and you loved deeply even when it wasn’t reciprocated. You did it!

You trusted the Lord for financial provision and gave even when it hurt. You worked late for the good of your company and many are unaware of the extra sacrifice you made because you knew it would benefit all. You did it!

You spent quality time with your children, regardless of work pressure, and worked your schedule around them so that they would always know they are your priority. All they experienced was the love of an intentional and dedicated parent. You did it!

This year extra time was demanded of you to look after an aging parent or a child that was struggling. You spent time in prayer before having tender conversations that were necessary and you honored the past and celebrated the breakthroughs. You did it!

Maybe it’s been a year of praying for physical healing or the healing of a marriage. You might be celebrating a great victory or still trusting the Lord to see change but you have stood firm in your faith, regardless of the circumstances because you know He is good and always faithful. You did it!

This year you had to say goodbye to a loved one and though you treasure the memories and rejoice that they are in heaven, your heart still aches at their physical absence. You’re acutely aware of the place setting no longer needed or the conversations you are no longer able to have. Yet, you have leaned in to the love and comfort of the Prince of Peace and have come through this year strengthened in your walk with Him. You did It!

Your Heavenly Father has seen every battle fought and every victory won. He has watched as you have given thanks amidst the pain and shared testimony of His kindness. He has protected you and watched over you and delighted in you because He loves you!

Today we all stand at the threshold of a brand new decade. We have many opportunities awaiting us to love deeply, to trust His faithfulness, to give generously, to pursue new adventures, and to advance the Kingdom in our given spheres.

As we remember the Lords kindness to us, let’s also surrender the year ahead to His goodness and His faithfulness.

You did it! Happy New Year!

‬‬“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭NIV
