To know Him
There are a few people in my life who know me really well. They know what I like and don’t like. They will perceive whether I’m doing well or not (regardless of a smile on face). These are people who I can lean on because their love for me is constant and does not waiver.
I’m sure as you read this, you are thinking of people in your own life who fit this description. The One who created us knows us better than anyone else, and I believe He longs for us to know Him in an intimate and tender way. His hearts desire above all things, is that we know Him personally and intimately as a loving Father.
When we know by revelation, that He is always and only kind and good, we will easily believe the hope to which He has called us and the inheritance that is ours in Christ. When we know Him we will believe that the resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead is ours too. We will begin to see dead places come to life and places of lack, supplied, because we know by revelation that our good God will supply all our needs. When we know Him we will no longer question His kind intent towards us or whether our future is good and secure in Him.
In Philippians 3:8 the apostle Paul says “I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.”
I want to encourage you to get to know this Jesus we call Lord and Savior. Dig into the word to see how much He loves you and that He has good plans for your future. Ask Holy Spirit to give you revelation of the magnificent inheritance that is yours because He loves you that much! (See last weeks blog)
As much as He is our Lord, He also wants us to know Him as a tender lover and faithful friend and One we can trust with our whole hearts. “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.”Ephesians 1:17 NIV
