Our weapon of worship

One of the weapons I believe the Lord is emphasizing is that of worship. It’s been beautiful to see the collaboration of worship teams working together to create songs that are moving mountains and drawing many into the Lords great love for them.

There is a great awakening on the horizon and waves of Presence and miracles and encounters are starting to break. In this season, the Lord is strengthening our weapon of worship, and many new songs are being forged in the fires. These songs will linger past this season as weapons to break the back of the enemy and usher in God’s Presence. These songs are destroying the obstacles of captivity and discouragement because the obstacles of the enemy are no match to the power of His Presence.

In Acts 16:24-26, Paul and Silas have been severely beaten and put in stocks in prison. In the natural they are severely limited and in bad shape. Yet despite their circumstances, they start praying and singing praise to God. What happens next is nothing short of supernatural! The other prisoners are listening to them, when suddenly there’s an earthquake, the prison is shaken and everyone’s chains fall off!

Two worshippers made a way for all the imprisoned around them to be set free. They shifted the atmosphere from one of captivity to one of freedom.

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” - ‭‭Luke‬ ‭4:18-19‬ ‭NIV‬‬ ( I believe Paul had this revelation …he knew what was on him that couldn’t be destroyed)

Throughout scripture we see that it doesn’t take an army to change an atmosphere. It may take one or just a few to lead many into victory. In 2 Kings 3:15 Elisha the prophet calls for a harpist and while the harpist plays, Elisha starts to prophesy. The atmosphere allows him to declare a word of provision and victory over Moab. In Exodus 15:20-21, Miriam the prophetess says to the women, “sing to the the Lord.” Her worship creates an atmosphere of great celebration and leads them into praise as they thank God for his great deliverance across the Red Sea.

When we choose to worship, and choose to focus on the Lord and not on the storms, we become catalysts of freedom that will affect many.

Back to our Paul and Silas story… they go to the jailers house where he and his whole family come to salvation and are baptized. Transformation of a family started with two people choosing to worship in the most difficult of circumstances.

Our declarations of victory as we worship our King, whether we are meeting with 4 or 40 or 400 or more, cause great movement in the spiritual realm that begins the breaking of chains, and the release of victory!

“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.” - Acts‬ ‭16:25-26‬ ‭NIV‬‬
